# SAH participant profile

> Understanding the Support at Home tab on a client profile, including API connection status, funding details, and classification information

The **Support at Home** tab on a client profile shows the connection to the Services Australia API, the participant's funding classification, and a real-time view of their SAH budget balances. Most of this information is read from Services Australia directly - you don't enter it manually.

## Accessing the SAH tab

Open the client profile, then select the **Support at Home** tab from the navigation tabs at the top of the profile.

## What's on the SAH tab

### API connection status

The top-left area shows whether the client profile is connected to the Services Australia API. A connected profile pulls funding and classification data directly from the Aged Care Portal. If the connection is not active, budget data won't update automatically and claiming via API won't be available for this participant.

### Participant information

| Field                    | Description                                                                                                 |
| ------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Care Recipient ID** | The participant's unique identifier in Services Australia systems. Required for API connection and claiming |
| **Classification level** | The participant's SAH classification (one of 10 ongoing levels, or a transitional HCP level) |
| **Grandfathered status** | Whether the participant is subject to grandfathering rules from the HCP transition |
| **Supplements** | Any supplements the participant receives, for example dementia supplement or oxygen supplement |

### Funding table

The funding table shows the participant's current budget allocations. Each row represents a funding type.

| Column                    | Description                                                                                                                                |
| ------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Funding type** | The category of funding - Ongoing Quarterly, Assistive Technology, Home Modifications, End of Life, Restorative Care, or HCP Unspent Funds |
| **Start date / End date** | The dates this budget allocation is active |
| **Total budget** | The full amount allocated for this funding period |
| **Available budget** | The remaining unspent balance |
| **Last updated** | The timestamp of the most recent refresh from Services Australia |

To refresh the budget data, open the SAH tab. The system pulls the latest figures from the API at this point.

<Note>
  Budget figures reflect the last time the data was pulled from Services Australia. Refresh the tab regularly when working with participants who have high expenditure or are approaching their budget limit.
</Note>

### Agreements and funding types

Use this section to link each SAH agreement to its corresponding funding type. This is what tells Visualcare which budget a claim draws from when you submit services for a participant.

## Frequently asked questions

<Accordion title="How do I add a Registered Supporter for an SAH participant?">
  A Registered Supporter is a contact type specific to SAH. To add one:

  1. Go to **Maintenance** → **Contact Type** and create a contact type named "Registered Supporter (SAH)" if it doesn't already exist
  2. Open the client profile → **Contacts** tab
  3. Add a new contact or edit an existing one
  4. Select the "Registered Supporter (SAH)" contact type

  The Registered Supporter then appears on the participant's contacts list.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Where are Provider Held Funds managed?">
  Provider Held Funds are not managed within Visualcare. These are handled outside the system in line with government guidance. Refer to the Services Australia provider documentation for the current requirements.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="The classification level drop-down doesn't have the right options">
  Until the classification level field is updated to reflect the new SAH levels, use the customisable drop-down fields on the client profile to record classification information. These fields - **Client Type**, **Area**, **Division**, **Agreement Area**, and **Groups** - can be configured in **Maintenance** to hold the values your organisation needs.
